Job Summary:

The non-CDL Driver will operate a Sweeper Truck  at commercial shopping centers and retail centers. The route will involve operating the Sweeper truck to scheduled stops and emptying trash cans, blowing off walk areas, picking up all trash on the property, and sweeping/cleaning the parking areas. The truck driver position requires the ability to navigate traffic, be organized, log correct information, have alert driving senses, and get in and out of the truck multiple times a night. You will walk 3-5 miles a night and will need to use a large leaf blower and bend over to pick up large trash items that weigh up to 50 pounds. During the winter season, you will operate a salt truck and perform salting and deicer applications to parking lots and sidewalks before a snow event, and you will perform “ice-checks” and apply deicers to treat any residual snow or ice after a snow event. You may also be required to perform snow shoveling and snow plowing. During winter weather, you will not be using a sweeping truck or sweeping, but you will still be required to hand porter parking lots and landscaping areas, and empty trash cans.

Work Shift:  5 days / 9:00 PM – 5:00 AM; Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday

Job Responsibilities:

  • You will be provided with a planned route of accounts to service and will be responsible for completing your work independently (no manager will be breathing down your neck all night).
  • You will operate Parking Lot Sweeper equipment (trucks) and be required to inspect them daily to ensure safe operation.
  • You will work outside sweeping store parking lots and use a leaf blower to blow off sidewalks and truck loading docks, change trash bags, and hand-pick litter and debris from around buildings, landscaping grounds, and hard-to-reach areas. You could walk more than 3-4 miles in a night.
  • You will be provided with proper safety equipment (PPE), and you will need to wear pants, a company uniform shirt, and boots.
  • You will apply salt to parking lots using a Salt Truck, and deicers to sidewalks before a winter weather event, and you will inspect parking lots and sidewalks for ice and treat with deicers, after a winter weather event.
  • You will use a skid steer or loader to load salt into your salt truck (training is provided).
  • You will review your scheduled routes, be proactive, and ask questions if the work is unclear.

We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.

You are being given the opportunity to provide the following information in order to help us comply with federal and state Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action record keeping, reporting, and other legal requirements.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
